Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a skilled machinist for second shift in Carroll, IA. The role involves programming, operating CNC and manual machines, interpreting blueprints with GD&T, and fabricating metal parts to tight tolerances. You will perform setups, run inspections, and maintain quality records while adhering to EHS and CI guidelines.

The position is onsite with training during first weeks on regular daytime hours. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered for external candidates.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED or vocational/technical education with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Certification in core discipline with 4–5 months of employment.
• Certification on multiple programs labeled as moderate to difficult.

Responsibilities

• Produces machine parts by programming, assembling, and operating a CNC or manual machine (lathes, mills, grinders, and other equipment).
• Interprets blueprints, work orders, GD&T for tolerances and requirements.
• Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts into sub-units or units.
• Takes measurements and selects appropriate machines for the process.
• Performs machining setups and makes adjustments as required.
• Conducts inspections and maintains records to ensure quality and safety.
• Supports EHS, Quality and CI guidelines as directed.
