Position Overview

Purpose: Responsible for manual and machine tasks related to the setup, maintenance, and operation of sheet-fed offset presses to produce products meeting customer specifications.

Essential Job Functions

1. Operate various sheet-fed offset presses.
2. Read work orders to determine setup specifications and instructions.
3. Start machines and conduct trial runs to verify setup accuracy.
4. Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and determine necessary adjustments.
5. Ensure image registration across units and adjust for print quality and color accuracy using densitometer readings.
6. Follow all standard operating procedures relevant to the role.
7. Perform routine adjustments during press runs to maintain quality.
8. Complete all work effectively and on schedule.
9. Accurately follow instructions and maintain records of daily production.
10. Handle customer artwork carefully, keeping it clean and undamaged.
11. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
12. Open machines and replace damaged products using hand tools.
13. Perform daily/monthly maintenance and troubleshooting.
14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of printing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents.
• Basic computer skills for data entry.
• Intermediate arithmetic skills.
• Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through experience or testing.
• Pass color hue and color vision tests.
• Ability to read a ruler and perform accurate work.
• Effective time management skills.
• Willingness to work overtime during busy periods.
• Good attendance and ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
