DIGITAL PRESS OPERATOR
JOB DUTIES:
• RIP digital print files according to correct resolution, media, and color configuration.
• Examine job orders to determine quantities to be printed, stock specifications, colors, or special printing instructions.
• Verify all vinyl and ink meet the specifications for a given job.
• Collect and inspect samples during print runs to identify any necessary adjustments.
• Load digital presses with vinyl and make necessary adjustments, according to vinyl type.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and process maintenance requests as needed.
• Input production job settings into computer workstation that control automated printing systems.
• Adjust digital files to alter print elements, such as fonts, graphics, or color separations.
• Identify possible printing issues whether they are digital, mechanical or software related.
• Ensure print quality of jobs according to company's standards.
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
• Prefer at least 1 year of commercial digital printing experience
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience with digital RIP software such as Caldera, Onyx or ErgoSoft. Caldera preferred.
• Intermediate computer literacy
• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Continuous standing/walking.
• Occasional bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching.
• Occasional lifting and pushing/pulling material up to 100 lbs.
• Utilize lifting mechanisms or direct physical activity to load material and operate equipment.
• The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
