Job summary

Saragossa in New York is hiring a second-in-command to scale the firm's private cloud platform used by a multi-billion dollar hedge fund. This role centers on building a robust on-prem and virtualized environment that the firm actually runs on.

You will own scaling the platform, define DR and backup strategies, and drive cost-conscious sizing of new projects, with hands-on scripting in Python and Bash to automate routine tasks. On-site presence four days a week in NYC is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with on-premises infrastructure and private cloud.
• Strong Linux and virtualization skills.
• Experience with DR planning and backup for regulated data.
• Ability to size and cost projects within multi-million dollar budgets.

Responsibilities

• Scale the physical and virtual platform: servers, enterprise storage, virtualization, capacity.
• Reliability, disaster recovery and backup strategy for regulated data.
• Costing and sizing new projects, with real say over a multi-million dollar budget.
• Automating the routine work with practical Python and Bash.
