Job summary

PG Global is seeking two 2nd Engineers to join a Heavy Lift Crane Vessel for an upcoming offshore project. The role focuses on day-to-day engine department operation and maintenance under Chief Engineer supervision.

Key duties include maintaining main engines, diesel generators, propulsion, and auxiliary systems; monitoring engine-room logs and safety compliance; coordinating maintenance with engine-room personnel and supporting DP operations offshore.

Qualifications

• Valid Second Engineer Certificate of Competency.
• Experience as 2nd Engineer onboard offshore or marine vessels.
• Heavy Lift Crane Vessel or Offshore Construction Vessel experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of marine diesel engines, generators and auxiliary machinery.
• DP vessel experience would be advantageous.
• Valid STCW certificates, medical and seafarer documentation.
• Valid offshore safety certificates, where required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Engineer with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the engine department.
• Carry out planned and corrective maintenance on main engines, diesel generators and auxiliary machinery.
• Monitor and maintain propulsion, fuel, cooling, lubrication and other engine-room systems.
• Troubleshoot machinery faults and ensure equipment reliability throughout offshore operations.
• Support vessel power generation and machinery readiness during heavy lifting and DP operations.
• Maintain engine-room logs, planned maintenance records and technical documentation.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company procedures and applicable safety regulations.
• Assist with the supervision of engine-room personnel and coordinate maintenance activities as required.
• Ensure compliance with onboard HSE procedures, Permit to Work and Lockout/Tagout requirements.
