Bordelon Marine Inc. in Houma, LA is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer with a USCG license to lead vessel engineering operations and ensure safe, efficient offshore performance.

You will oversee diesel-electric propulsion and DP systems, ensure compliance with USCG, ABS and ISM standards, troubleshoot critical equipment, monitor performance, and mentor the engineering crew in a challenging offshore environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with diesel-electric propulsion systems.
• Strong understanding of dynamic positioning (DP) technology.
• Knowledge of vessel automation and control systems.
• STCW certification and valid TWIC card required.
• Previous offshore or subsea support vessel experience preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Oversee and maintain all vessel mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with a focus on diesel-electric propulsion and DP systems.
• Ensure compliance with USCG, ABS, and ISM regulatory standards.
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on critical systems.
• Monitor engine performance and fuel efficiency to optimize vessel operations.
• Manage engineering crew, provide guidance, and ensure proper training.
• Work closely with the Captain and shore-side management to ensure operational readiness.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
