Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections seeks a CORRECTIONAL SERVICES CONSULTANT to lead Second Chance Employer partnerships across Region II Gainesville and statewide as needed. You will build relationships with employers, coordinate hiring events, and report outcomes to strengthen Florida’s workforce.

The role requires travel, strong Excel and documentation skills, and the ability to convey complex program information to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be willing to travel throughout the assigned region and statewide or overnight as required.
• Must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft programs including Excel, with strong documentation and recordkeeping skills.
• Must possess strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills, and be able to clearly and accurately convey complex program information to diverse audiences, including employers, community partners, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and maintain Second Chance Employer partnerships through outreach, visits, and ongoing management, serving as the primary relationship manager and handling lead handoffs.
• Recruit employers for hiring events and pre-release opportunities, conduct follow-ups, and document outcomes for each employer contact.
• Present approved content to external groups about hiring reintegrating populations and build relationships with workforce and community partners.
• Communicate regularly with internal staff and leadership, share employer information, and develop strategic employer engagement plans based on workforce needs and labor market trends.
• Maintain accurate records, submit reports, represent FDC at events, and track job placement outcomes to refine engagement strategies.
