Job summary

The Florida Department of Corrections in West Palm Beach region seeks a Government Operations Consultant II to coordinate and manage community corrections training, including budgeting and curriculum development. This is a Career Service, non-telework role reporting to the Directors Office.

You will lead instructors, schedule courses for probation officers and recruits, maintain records in E-Train and ATMS II, and ensure annual training compliance.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must possess a General Instructor certified through FDLE.
• Must be Correctional Probation or Correctional Officer certified.
• Must be able to travel overnight as necessary to conduct/facilitate training as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage community corrections training activities and budget within the assigned region.
• Plan, manage, and administer training programs, including developing curricula and lesson plans.
• Assist with scheduling and instructing various training courses for Correctional Probation Officers and recruits.
• Maintain training records and ensure compliance with annual training requirements using E-Train and ATMS II systems.
• Provide consultation, technical assistance, and manage activities for newly hired probation officers, including their training and certification.
