Job summary

Recology King County is seeking a supervisor to oversee operations personnel, route drivers, and scheduling. The role ensures efficient routing, safety adherence, and timely service across multiple shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities include assigning routes, analyzing performance, handling customer inquiries, and contributing to operational reports. CDL may be preferred; no relocation required.

Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Management experience in waste industry/recycling programs, transportation, production and logistics operations or related field.
• Class B Commercial Driver's License preferred upon hire or within six months of hire.
• Principles of employee training, supervision, and evaluation.
• Supervisory techniques, resource allocation, planning and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Assigns employees to routes and special pickups for timely services.
• Ensures the accountability of route completions and analyzes route performance.
• Monitors work to ensure efficient operations and enforces safety policies and procedures.
• Resolves customer service problems and handles billing disputes with drivers as needed.
• Generates and analyzes operational reports and makes recommendations.
• Drives trucks, as needed.
• May dispatch or back-up for dispatch duties.
• May participate in community and business meetings on behalf of the company.
