Job summary

Lawyers for Justice, P.C.® in Seattle is seeking an experienced attorney to represent clients in state and federal wage-and-hour, class, and representative actions, handling a growing caseload and guiding clients through litigation from discovery to trial.

The ideal candidate is licensed to practice in California or Seattle (or eligible for admission), with 5+ years civil litigation experience, strong oral advocacy, deposition and motion practice, and willingness to travel for complex matters.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be licensed to practice law in California or Seattle, or pending admission to the California or Seattle Bar.
• 5+ years of experience in civil litigation, including discovery, oral advocacy, court appearances, and motion practice.
• Experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage-and-hour matters is a plus.
• Ability to travel on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Manage an active caseload and advocate for clients in state and federal wage-and-hour, class, and representative actions.
• Conduct and respond to discovery; take and defend depositions; draft and argue motions.

Description

The Attorney will represent and advocate on behalf of clients in state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing an active caseload; conducting and responding to discovery; taking and defending depositions; drafting and arguing motions; appearing in court for hearings and trial; and advising clients throughout the litigation process. Our caseload is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is a licensed, experienced litigator who is organized, professional, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be either (a) licensed to practice law in California or Seattle or (b) already licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to the California Bar or Seattle Bar.
• The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in California or Seattle and have 5+ years of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery in the civil litigation context, oral advocacy and appearing in Court, motion practice and taking/defending depositions.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage and hour litigation is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to travel on occasion.
