Job summary

Lawyers for Justice in Seattle seeks an experienced Attorney to represent clients in wage-and-hour, class, and representative actions against various parties. The attorney will manage cases, handle discovery, depose witnesses, and argue motions in state and federal courts.

Ideal candidates are licensed in Seattle or calming jurisdictions with 5+ years in civil litigation, strong advocacy, and travel flexibility to support a growing caseload.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in Seattle or California, or be pending admission in Seattle/California.
• 5+ years of civil litigation experience, including discovery and motion practice.
• Experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage-hour cases is a plus.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Description

The Attorney will represent and advocate on behalf of clients in state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing an active caseload; conducting and responding to discovery; taking and defending depositions; drafting and arguing motions; appearing in court for hearings and trial; and advising clients throughout the litigation process. Our caseload is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is a licensed, experienced litigator who is organized, professional, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be either (a) licensed to practice law in California or Seattle or (b) already licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to the California Bar or Seattle Bar.
• The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in California or Seattle and have 5+ years of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery in the civil litigation context, oral advocacy and appearing in Court, motion practice and taking/defending depositions.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage and hour litigation is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to travel on occasion.
