Job summary

Lawyers for Justice, P.C.® in Seattle seeks an Associate Attorney to support wage-and-hour, class, and representative actions against regional and national defendants. Responsibilities include researching, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses, and assisting with depositions and court hearings.

The ideal candidate is a licensed attorney with 1–3 years of civil litigation experience, familiar with discovery, oral advocacy, and depositions, and able to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney in Washington state or pending admission to Seattle Bar.
• 1–3 years of civil litigation experience including discovery, motions, and depositions.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
• Assist with deposition preparation and attendance; prepare for and appear at court hearings.
• Communicate with clients under the guidance of senior attorneys; support wage-and-hour and class actions.

Description

The Associate Attorney will support and assist in the representation of clients in state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting legal research; drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses; assisting with deposition preparation and attendance; preparing for and appearing at court hearings; and communicating with clients under the guidance of senior attorneys. Our caseload is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is a licensed attorney who is organized, professional, eager to learn, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be either (a) licensed to practice law in Seattle (b) already licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to the Seattle Bar.
• The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in Seattle and have 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery in the civil litigation context, oral advocacy and appearing in Court, motion practice and taking/defending depositions.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage and hour litigation is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to travel on occasion.
