Job summary

Lawyers for Justice, P.C.® in Chicago seeks an experienced Attorney to represent clients in state and federal wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies. The attorney will manage an active caseload, conduct discovery, take and defend depositions, draft and argue motions, and appear in court for hearings and trial.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of civil litigation experience including discovery, motions, and depositions.
• Licensed to practice law in California or Chicago, or pending admission to the California Bar or Chicago Bar.
• Prior experience with wage-and-hour, class actions and representative actions is a plus.
• Must be able to travel occasionally.

• Represent and advocate for clients in wage-and-hour and class actions.

Description

The Attorney will represent and advocate on behalf of clients in state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing an active caseload; conducting and responding to discovery; taking and defending depositions; drafting and arguing motions; appearing in court for hearings and trial; and advising clients throughout the litigation process. Our caseload is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is a licensed, experienced litigator who is organized, professional, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be either (a) licensed to practice law in California or Chicago or (b) already licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to the California Bar or Chicago Bar.
• The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in California or Chicago and have 5+ years of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery in the civil litigation context, oral advocacy and appearing in Court, motion practice and taking/defending depositions.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage and hour litigation is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to travel on occasion.

License/Certification
