Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses, interview clients to understand financial situations, and provide personalized recommendations. You’ll build year-round client relationships, uncover tax savings, and work with robust training and technology.

The role is in-person at a local Block Advisors office with an incentive plan tied to impact and client service quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative role.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and tax implications.
• Provide tax savings opportunities and recommend Block Advisors products/services.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team and contribute to a client-focused office environment.
