Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hiring experienced Border Patrol Agents for full-time, career positions across multiple duty locations.

Qualifications

• GL‑9: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, performing duties such as searches and apprehension.
• GS‑11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, enforcing laws and leading investigations.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of immigration and customs violations.
• Preventing and apprehending smugglers near the borders using surveillance and covert methods.
• Interpreting tracks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Performing various checks and patrols to ensure border integrity.
• Patrolling borders and waterways using a range of government assets to fulfill USBP missions.
