Description :
The Seasonal Worker is responsible for delighting Thorntons guests with prompt and courteous service, maintaining merchandise, and supporting store goals and initiatives.
Essential Job Functions (RESPONSIBLE TO)
- Delivers guest service with a "how may I help you" attitude. Looks for opportunities to delight guests and follows instructions from store management.
- Rings all sales as discussed in the operations procedures.
- Assures proper sale and accounting of money orders / lottery during shift.
- Accurately accounts for price overrides, store use of merchandise, voids, returns, and waste.
- Keeps coolers, fast lane merchandise, store shelves, and displays fully stocked and fronted at all times.
- Cleans and maintains equipment and prepares high-margin products such as coffee, fountain drinks, etc.
- Uses suggestive selling techniques to recommend items that complement guest purchases and asks guests if they are a Rewards member at the beginning of each transaction.
- Ensures that store management is aware of all sales, cash, or operating discrepancies.
- Cleans windows, floors, shelving, counters, gas pumps, and restrooms daily, following store procedures.
- Cleans the parking lot and surrounding grounds as needed.
- Advises store management of any maintenance or safety issues.
- Practices safe working habits in line with company safety rules.
- Uses the Guest Service Department appropriately for guest service issues.
- Familiarizes with all Thorntons policies relevant to the SW position as outlined on the intranet.
- Adheres to all applicable laws regarding alcohol, tobacco, and other regulations.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Maintains PAR levels as outlined on the PAR sheet per store expectations.
Requirements :
- High School Diploma or GED.
- All experience considered.
- Ability to speak, read, understand, and write English.
- Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations.
- High energy and strong work ethic.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Sufficient visual acuity to check IDs and process money orders.
Ability to read and understand instructions for operating electronic cash registers and other equipment.
Ability to read electronic fuel reports.

Other Considerations :
- Must be able to climb ladders for cleaning, stocking, and price changes.
- Records time accurately on TOTS systems and signs off on hours worked.
- Understands company funds are not for personal use.
