Description :
The Seasonal Worker is responsible for providing excellent guest service, maintaining merchandise, and supporting store goals and initiatives.
Essential Job Functions (RESPONSIBLE TO)
- Deliver guest service with a "how may I help you" attitude, seeking opportunities to delight guests and following store management instructions.
- Ring all sales according to operational procedures.
- Ensure proper sale and accounting of money orders/lottery during shifts.
- Accurately account for price overrides, store merchandise use, voids, returns, and waste.
- Keep coolers, merchandise, shelves, and displays stocked and fronted at all times.
- Clean and maintain equipment and prepare high-margin products such as coffee and fountain drinks.
- Use suggestive selling techniques and inquire about the Refreshing Rewards membership at each transaction.
- Report all sales, cash, or operational discrepancies to store management.
- Maintain cleanliness of windows, floors, shelving, counters, gas pumps, and restrooms as per store procedures.
- Clean the parking lot and surrounding grounds as needed.
- Report maintenance or safety issues to management.
- Follow safety practices aligned with company policies.
- Utilize the Guest Service Department for guest service issues.
- Familiarize with all Thorntons policies relevant to the SW position.
- Comply with all applicable laws regarding alcohol, tobacco, and other regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Maintain PAR levels as outlined in store expectations.
Requirements :
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience of any kind is considered.
- Ability to speak, read, understand, and write English.
- Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations.
- High energy and strong work ethic.
- Excellent interpersonal and guest service skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Sufficient visual acuity for identification and processing transactions.
Ability to read and understand instructions for electronic equipment and fuel reports.
Other Considerations :
- Must be able to climb ladders for cleaning and stocking tasks.
- Properly record hours worked in TOTS system.
- Understand that company funds are not for personal use.
