Job summary

Mass Audubon seeks a Visitor Services Representative I for a per diem role at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, Lenox, MA. This seasonal position handles visitor engagement, greets guests, directs traffic, and promotes memberships while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities include registrations, information, and sales at the front desk, plus assisting during events and peak periods. CORI/SORI checks are required for employment.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Excellent people skills and enthusiasm for a team environment.
• Organized with strong written and verbal communication.
• Strong desire to meet sales goals and promote goods or services.
• Office skills, including computer, copier, scanning, and phone system.
• Experience with Office 365, Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Ability to work well with staff, volunteers, and community representatives.

Responsibilities

• Greet and inform members, visitors, and guests regarding visitor center, sanctuary, trails, programs, and Mass Audubon in general.
• Answer phone calls/monitor voicemails and provide information, guidance and direction.
• Assist with program registrations.
• Update visitor signage, brochures and bulletin board information.
• Understand and promote membership opportunities.
• Use a cash register and credit card machine for sales and admissions.
• Monitor radio and be prepared to serve as primary communication point-of-contact in case of emergency per standing policies and procedures.
• Handle opening and closing procedures including end-of-day register sales tallying.
