Job summary

New England Botanic Garden in Boylston, MA invites Seasonal Temporary Visitor Services Associates to help run events outside regular hours. You will welcome visitors, share garden information, and process admissions, memberships, and Night Lights inquiries, using the on-site POS and reservation systems.

Training covers customer service, ticketing software, and internal communications tools. Shifts may vary, with some weekends and special events; overtime may apply.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old; work permit if 16-17.
• Experience handling cash and credit card transactions preferred but training provided.
• Previous customer service experience or interest in developing these skills.
• Comfortable with computers in fast-paced environments.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional welcome and direct visitors around the garden.
• Provide general information on routes, displays, and facilities.
• For Admissions: greet entrants and process admissions on-site or check pre-sold admissions.
• For Night Lights Hotline: answer inquiries, sell tickets and renewals, assist with rescheduling.
• Be knowledgeable about membership levels and benefits; sell or renew memberships in the POS system.
• Maintain welcoming conduct and respect for staff and visitors; respect pronouns.
• Follow the Employee Handbook and policy requirements; perform other duties as assigned.
