Job summary

State of Maine, MaineDOT, is hiring Transportation Workers for the Western Maine region (Athens/Canaan). The role supports road and bridge maintenance across seasons with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain/maintain required licenses and certifications as specified.
• Requirements include a State-paid medical exam with drug test, respirator fit test, and Class C license by day one.
• Shall obtain and retain a valid Class B license during probation.
• Ability to become a certified snow fighter within 12 months.
• Ability to obtain flagger certification within a specified time.
• US citizenship, permanent residency, or eligible visa status for CDL eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Keep roadways and bridges safe through seasonal roadwork and maintenance.
• Learn new skills with changing daily tasks and overtime opportunities.
• Receive CDL and Snowfighter training during employment.
• Potential for automatic promotional opportunities over time.
