Job summary

The State of Maine is hiring a Transportation Worker for the Paris, Maine location. You will help keep roadways and bridges safe, handle seasonal tasks from road repair to plowing, and work in all weather conditions.

Training opportunities include CDL and Snowfighter programs with opportunities for advancement. Minimum requirements include being 18+, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to obtain the necessary licenses and certifications within defined timeframes.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• State-issued CDL training and Snowfighter certification potential
• Flagger certification within an expected timeframe
• Ability to obtain Class B license within six months
• Ability to become a certified snow fighter within 12 months

Responsibilities

• Maintain roadways and bridges and perform roadwork as assigned
• Participate in snow plowing and summer culvert replacement
• Work long hours in various weather conditions to ensure safety
• Complete required training including CDL and snowfighter programs
