Job summary

Jackson Hewitt is seeking a Seasonal Experienced Tax Preparer to guide clients through tax forms, multi-year and multi-state returns, and provide IRS audit support. You will conduct face-to-face interviews and support e-filing, delivering accurate, timely returns in a busy retail setting.

You’ll help grow the business by improving client retention and offering additional services, while ensuring payment processing and team collaboration. A strong tax background and customer focus are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ seasons of previous tax experience.
• Experience completing individual, trust, and/or partnership returns.
• Passion for providing extraordinary customer service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Successful completion of the Jackson Hewitt Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Field Instructor, Remote Support, or Call Center certification a plus.
• Tax planning and audit support experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field a plus.

Responsibilities

• As a Seasonal Experienced Tax Preparer, you will provide expert guidance, explain, prepare, and complete accurate tax forms for clients, including multiyear, multistate, and year-end tax forms.
• Provide clients with IRS audit support and assist with E-filing and providing prints for client review.
• Conduct face-to-face tax interviews with clients.
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
• Answer client calls via our national call center routing system.
• Answer tax related questions and provide future tax planning to clients.
• Process client payments and ensure timely deposits.
• Support office priorities through teamwork and collaboration.
• Mentor and support teammates, and act as a lead when needed.
