Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Tax Professional for seasonal in-person work at a local tax office.

You will prepare complete tax returns for individuals and businesses, interview clients to understand their financial situations, and provide clear, personalized tax-saving recommendations. You will also deliver IRS support and audit guidance as needed, while collaborating with the team to foster a client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must complete the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• 1+ year in tax prep, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping including individual & business returns
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication; explain tax concepts clearly
• Must meet continuing education and IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for diverse situations (individual and business)
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and implications
• Provide clear, personalized tax savings recommendations and discuss H&R Block products
• Offer IRS support, tax notices assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team to maintain a positive client-focused office environment
