Job summary

Jackson Hewitt is seeking a Seasonal Experienced Tax Preparer to guide clients through complex tax scenarios, prepare accurate returns, and provide year-end tax support. You will collect information, interview clients, and file returns with IRS and state agencies.

You will interact with clients, respond to tax questions, and help grow the business by offering additional services while maintaining high service standards. Training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• 2+ seasons of tax experience required.
• Experience completing individual, trust, &/or partnership tax returns.
• Passion for providing extraordinary customer service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Successful completion of the Jackson Hewitt Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Field Instructor, Remote Support, or Call Center certification a plus.
• Tax planning and audit support experience preferred.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent license is a bonus.
• PTIN Certification: Yes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face tax interviews with clients.
• Generate business growth and increase client retention; offer additional products and services.
• Answer client calls via our national call center routing system.
• Answer tax-related questions and provide future tax planning to clients promptly.
• Process payments and ensure timely deposits.
• Support marketing and business generation efforts.
• Collaborate with team to fulfill office priorities.
• Mentor teammates and potentially act as lead.
• Handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
