Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare complex tax returns and advise clients at a local tax office. You will interview clients to understand finances, deliver personalized tax recommendations, and help identify savings opportunities while following IRS/state requirements.

The role emphasizes client-centered service, collaboration with colleagues, and use of leading training and technology tools to support accurate filings and client confidence.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment1.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic service and identifying tax savings opportunities and products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
