Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal tax professional to prepare complex individual and business tax returns. You will interview clients, understand financial situations, and offer clear, personalized tax recommendations.

In this client-facing role, you will help identify tax savings opportunities and assist with IRS notices or audits as needed, contributing to a collaborative, high-performing office culture.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• 1+ year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must complete continuing education and meet all IRS and state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations (individuals and businesses).
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive client-focused office environment.
