Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for diverse and complex situations, including individuals and businesses.
• Conduct client interviews to understand finances and life changes, then provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by offering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment.
