Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to help clients navigate complex tax situations with confidence and accuracy in an in-person office. You will prepare returns, conduct interviews, and offer personalized tax-saving recommendations.

You will build lasting client relationships, provide IRS support, and collaborate with a team to maintain a high-performing office environment. A strong focus on client service and ongoing education is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related fields.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse tax situations (individual and business).
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications; provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and relevant H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
