Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate for in-person service at a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, prepare tax returns, and explain tax concepts with support from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience required; training provided. Expect 15–35 hours per week, with up to 40 hours during peak periods, including evenings and weekends during tax season. Competitive hourly pay and opportunity to grow tax knowledge.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
