Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in person at a local tax office. No prior tax experience is required, as full training and support are provided from day one to help you prepare tax returns and serve clients.

You will meet with clients, gather information, and explain tax details clearly while identifying potential savings opportunities. Availability includes evenings and weekends during tax season, with 15–35 hours per week and potential peak periods up to 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course 1.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
