Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns with guidance, and discuss tax-saving opportunities. Prior tax experience is not required—training starts day one.

You will use AI-based tools and standard tax workflows to support client service, build relationships, and help clients understand options. Availability includes peak-season hours and weekends.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations to clients
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend applicable products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach
