Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training from teammates. You’ll explain tax concepts clearly and suggest savings opportunities while building solid client relationships.

No prior tax experience is required; training starts on day one. You will earn a competitive hourly rate and have opportunities to increase earnings as you gain tax knowledge and grow in the role.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course or equivalent training.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving to analyze client information and address questions with guidance and resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.

Education

High School Diploma/GED

Bachelor’s degree (preferred)

Customer service experience

Strong communication skills
