Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with guidance from experienced teammates. You’ll explain tax information clearly and identify savings opportunities while building strong client relationships.

No prior tax experience is required, as training starts on day one. You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you gain tax knowledge and grow

Qualifications

• Completed the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
