Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with guidance from experienced teammates. You will explain tax details clearly, identify savings opportunities, and build strong client relationships in a collaborative, client-first environment.

No prior tax experience is required, as training starts Day One. The role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office with a competitive hourly rate and opportunities to grow tax

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
