Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with guidance from experienced teammates. You’ll explain tax concepts clearly and identify savings opportunities while building client relationships.

The role is in-person at a local H&R Block office, with competitive hourly pay and growth opportunities as tax knowledge increases. No prior tax experience is required, as training starts on day one.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course (or enrollment)
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills and ability to organize information
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations clients can understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach
