Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to help clients gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions at a local tax office. No prior tax experience required; training starts day one and support from experienced teammates is available.

You’ll meet with clients, identify tax savings opportunities, explain information clearly, and build strong client relationships. The role is in-person during tax season with opportunities to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
