Job summary

H&R Block invites you to join as a seasonal Tax Associate, working in person at a local tax office. You’ll meet clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training from experienced teammates.

You will explain tax information clearly and provide practical recommendations to help clients maximize their savings. No prior tax experience is required; the role offers training, supportive colleagues, and opportunities to grow tax knowledge and earnings as you excel in duties.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course1
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
