Job summary

H&R Block seeks a seasonal Tax Associate to assist with gathering client information, preparing tax returns, and answering questions. Training and support are provided from day one, with opportunities to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows. This in-person role is based at a local H&R Block tax office.

You’ll meet clients, explain tax information clearly, and identify potential savings while building lasting client relationships and contributing to office priorities.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
