Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate in Nashville, TN to work in person at a local tax office. You’ll gather information from clients, prepare tax returns with training, and answer questions while building client relationships.

Training and support are provided from day one, with opportunities to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows. No prior tax experience is required; successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course is part of the role.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
