Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in a local Virginia tax office. You’ll meet with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions as you learn on the job.

No prior tax experience is required; training is provided from day one, with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge and skills. This in-person role supports client services and tax preparation during peak season.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills including explaining information clearly
• Problem-solving skills including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
