Job summary

H&R Block is seeking seasonal Tax Associates to start a career in tax and client services with day-one training and support. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns at a local office, building valuable skills and relationships.

No prior tax experience is required; you’ll earn a competitive hourly rate and have opportunities to grow as you learn. This is an in-person role at a local H&R Block tax office.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving and ability to organize information.
• Comfort using digital tools, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
