Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to start a career in tax and client services. No prior tax experience is required; with training from day one you’ll work directly with clients to gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions while building valuable skills in a local office.

You’ll meet with clients, identify tax-saving opportunities, and explain information clearly. The role values teamwork and a client-first mindset, with an hourly rate that increases as you gain tax

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
