Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join the team in-person at a local tax office. No prior tax experience is required, as training and support are provided from day one.

You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns while learning and growing in the role. You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows, and you’ll work with experienced teammates to deliver quality client service.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
