Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training from experienced teammates. You’ll explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and build strong client relationships.

Training and support start day one, with competitive hourly pay. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED; completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience in a service-oriented environment interacting with customers
• Clear communication and ability to ask questions to understand needs
• Problem solving: organize information and identify solutions
• Comfort using digital tools (AI-based) such as Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach
