Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to start a career in tax and client services. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with guidance from experienced teammates, all in-person at a local tax office.

No prior tax experience is required; training begins day one. You’ll learn to explain tax information clearly, identify tax savings opportunities, and build strong client relationships while supporting office priorities through teamwork and a client-first

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• "Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment."
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
