Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to begin a career in tax and client services with training from day one. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns under guidance of experienced teammates in-person at a local tax office.

No prior tax experience is required, and there is opportunity to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge. Availability includes evenings and weekends during tax season.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of tax course or equivalent training.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service setting.
• Strong communication and questioning skills to understand needs.
• Problem-solving abilities and organizing information.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based assistants for tax work.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand tax situations.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with support from teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and product/service options.
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and resources.
• Build client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
