Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will gather client information, prepare tax returns, and respond to questions while building client relationships. Training is provided from day one to help you succeed in a client-focused environment.

You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge and performance. Evening and weekend availability during tax season may be required.

Qualifications

• Completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course is required.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to organize information.
• Comfort using AI-based tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
