Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office in person. You will gather client information, prepare tax returns with training and support, and answer questions while building client relationships. The role offers an hourly rate and opportunities to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows.

No prior tax experience is required; training is provided on day one. Evening and weekend availability during tax season may be needed to support client demand.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
