Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will gather client information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions while building client relationships, with training and support from day one.

You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge. Availability for peak periods, evenings, and weekends is encouraged during tax season.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment is required.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service environment.
• Strong communication skills to explain information clearly and ask questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills to organize information and identify solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and guidance.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and relevant products/services.
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
