Job summary

H&R Block in Texas is seeking a Tax Advisor for a seasonal, in-person role. You’ll review each client’s tax situation, ensure return accuracy, and provide guidance that builds trust and value while using our technology and Client Care support.

You’ll help clients navigate complex tax concepts, discuss options, and offer proactive planning, with ongoing training to stay current on tax laws and tools and to deliver a seamless client experience season after season.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including individual and small business returns.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Ability to collaborate within a team to deliver a seamless client experience.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Review client tax situations and identify opportunities for guidance.
• Explain tax concepts clearly to help clients understand their return and options.
• Provide proactive tax planning guidance beyond this year’s filing.
• Verify filings meet IRS regulations and Block standards.
• Stay current with tax law and Block tools.
• Build lasting client relationships through empathy and follow-through.
